A Few Pounds Ago In A Galaxy Far, Far Away…

Luke and Leia

RUMOR:  Studio “Forces” STAR WARS actors to shed some pounds…

Take this one with a grain of salt, folks, but UK tabloid The Sun claims producers of the forthcoming STAR WARS: EPISODE VII  have supplied Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) with both a nutritionist and personal trainer to get them in fighting shape before filming begins.

The Sun also claims that Harrison Ford (Han Solo) won’t require such services due to his already in shape physique (probably from years of forcing himself in to and out of refrigerators).

While this isn’t the type of news that normally catches my eye, let’s be real… we’ve all been wondering about this since the participation of the core group of the original trilogy was announced, haven’t we?  If you’ve kept up with the Skywalker twins since we last saw them in 1983’s RETURN OF THE JEDI, you know there’s some work to be done here.  Don’t lie.

Jedi Masters have got to get them from this…

I’m proud of them for doing it naturally and not choosing the quick and easy path, as Vader did…

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will be directed by J.J. Abrams (STAR TREK) and released in 2015.  You can read the casting breakdowns for the new additions here.

Just CGI replace them with Hayden Christensen. That’s what Lucas would have done. :-p

    • LOL. Luckily it’s J.J. Abrams at the helm this time. The lower halves of both actors will be replaced with multiple lens flares instead. 😉

  • Fisher actually doesn’t look too bad in that current photo. Hamill on the other hand… whoa.

    • Yeah… Voice actors don’t necessarily have to keep themselves in Jedi-like shape. And if memory serves, Fisher was recently a spokesperson for a weight loss company, so she’s halfway there. 🙂
